Our Studio
The Shanks Photography studio is a boutique studio located on 6 acres of private wooded land. Our environment makes it easy to have the best of both worlds for your session. We offer a light controlled studio environment and the great outdoors.
We are also completely mobile and will travel to your favorite location or better yet, right to your home. You may think there is nothing special about my home; there aren’t any good places to make a portrait. Surprisingly, we bring a fresh set of eyes and see opportunities you miss because you are so used to looking at your surrounding.
Portraits made in your home generally mean more to you in the end because it’s you and “your stuff” that make them special. If you have small children, they will be more relaxed and natural acting amongst their own toys and familiar surrounding.
Once your session is complete, we will set up time with you to preview your images at our studio or if you live too far away we will accomodate you in some other way. This will be the time to order gift portraits, wall portraits, custom cards or even a beautifully designed storybook of your session.
Directions:
From Byron follow Hwy 49 and turn right onto Newell Road
From Warner Robins on the 247 Connector cross over Hwy 49 and stay straight on Newell Road
From Fort Valley follow Hwy 49 north towards Byron and when you get to the 247 Connector intersection turn left onto Newell Road
Once on Newell Road travel approximately 1.2 miles and then turn left onto Cochran. Proceed on Cochran until the road curves sharply to the right. Take the 1st left just after the curve and proceed on Kelli Drive about 1/4 mile. The studio is on the right at 166 Kelli Drive.
